Question Tragicomedy ?

Hello to you all,

During the seminar session I had today, our Professor gave us some criticism by Peggy Muņoz Simonds suggesting that Cymbeline, though a "problem play", can be classified as Tragicomedy (with a good list of points to precise when a play can be considered as tragicomedy) rather than as Romance.

What do you think? I also had problems with the idea of Cymbeline being a Romance, because of all that political / pseudo-historical "part" of the play, so I am in favour of this, but... is it my "not at all fan of romance" side being to much in the way?

Midori :-)
