Default Romeo and Juliet Essay Help

Hi everyone, I’m in the 10th grade and we had been working on Romeo and Juliet this year and for our final exam we have been assigned to write an essay, with the choice of one of the following topics:

1. The lovers are doomed by their own impulsive decisions
2. The tragedy of the play stems from the irresponsible actions of the parents and parent substitutes in Romeo and Juliet’s lives

I’m really having trouble thinking about what I am going to write, If anyone here has any input on any ideas or anything I could use to form my essay that would really be helpful. This is a final exam and it is worth a lot (30%) of my final mark so any help would be appreciated, thanks!

If you go fro question one then you can compare and contrast the actions of Roemo and Juliet. Romeo is impulsive, Juliet is not. Romeo has a temper. He kills both Tybalt and Paris in a rage. Juliet is more methodical and structured in her apprach to problems. It is Juliet who decides they should marrry, it is Juliet stands up to her father. She shows courage in taking the drug that simulates death, and she shows courage in taking her own life

He doesn't show rage for killing Tybalt, Tybalt killed Mercutio, and Tybalt challenged Romeo! With the Paris killing, I don't think it was 'rage'.
